SHOWCASE INFO FOR PARENTS.
BEFORE THE DAY:
- Make sure you enter your dancer before the deadline date. Click here to complete the dancer entry form.
- Please ensure you’ve had a read through the important info for dancers page. Here you will see requirements for your dancer. Although most costumes are provided, occasionally dancers will need to bring a basic item or footwear (street dances always need clean trainers for example!). Your childs group will also have a specific hairstyle they will need to arrive with, so please have a practice beforehand, or if you are really struggling with this, allow time to ask another parent from their class to help where possible.
- Please ensure you and your family/friends have their tickets before the deadline date and keep these safe as they must be shown on entry, this is a safe guarding policy.
ON THE DAY:
- Please allow sufficient time on the day to drop your dancer off at their allocated time - it will be a tight schedule to keep to in order to get everything run through before the show. I have listed a useful parking map on the time/location page here to hopefully help out with those driving in.
- We kindly request that only one Parent drops off dancers to help reduce congestion during sign-in.
- Please ensure your child has been to the toilet before coming up to the sign-in desk, there are facilities in the foyer of the venue. This will help us lessen toilet trips right at the beginning of your dancers allotted rehearsal time.
- Dressing rooms get MESSY. To help ensure your child comes home wearing their own clothes with their own belongings, please ensure everything they wear and bring has been clearly labelled. If they could also bring their own labelled bag big enough to fit their own clothes in when they are not wearing them - this is extremely helpful!
- Please ensure your child doesn’t bring valuables into the venue, Diverse Dance Works and Ayse will not be held responsible for any lost or damaged items.
- Please note there is no refreshments available at the venue, so please send your child with enough water and snacks to last them the afternoon. Please do not send them in with anything containing nuts, and no fizzy drinks.
- After the show, Parents who are collecting children please stay seated in the auditorium, dancers will be signed out and sent into the auditorium for collection.
- Occasionally after a show, a dancer may have mistakenly mixed a piece of costume up with their own belongings. Please let us know if this happens. Group A’s will have helpers for putting their worn costumes into their own labelled costume return bag that is provided on the day, but all other group B’s, C’s, D’s are responsible for getting their costumes into their costume bag & returning them at the end of the day. Missing items that are not returned will incur a charge. A lot of time, energy effort and money goes into making these dancers look so fantastic costumed on stage, and they are used in future productions - so please remind your student to take extra care of the items lent to them on the day!
