IMPORTANT INFO FOR DANCERS.
ENSURE YOU ARE ENTERED TO PARTICIPATE:
Complete the dancer entry form before the deadline date.
HAIR:
Dancers are required to have an allocated hair style, depending on which group they are in. Their hairstyle can be viewed on this years hair/makeup document on the button above. Please ensure you have had a practise at this hairstyle before the day, and if you are struggling please ask another parent from your class to help. Ideally we don’t want any hair being done at the venue as it is a very tight schedule to get through. Please only use neutral hair bands/grips that match your dancers hair tone, and avoid any accessories.
MAKE-UP:
Dancers are alllowed and encouraged to wear make-up for the show day. Make-up on stage helps to make facial features more visible under the strong lighting and is all part of the fun of getting into character! To keep a coherent look across the dancers we ask that if your dancer would like to wear makeup, that they only wear the following;
- foundation
- blush
- eyeshadow
- eyeliner
- mascara
- pink or red lipstick
Please AVOID;
X no face paints
X no thick glitter gels or glitter anywhere but the eyelids
UNDERWEAR:
Please consider the colour of your underwear with what costume you are wearing (this is more aimed at anyone wearing leotard dresses). For those who need to also consider it, ensure you are prepared for the correct type of bra to wear on the day (Ayse will discuss in class as to which costumes require what).
JEWELLERY:
Small piercings may be kept in for the performance, but please leave all other jewellery at home. Please do a body check on the day to ensure you are wearing no rings, necklaces, bracelets, anklets etc. Not only does this make us look more uniform on stage, it also keeps our costumes safer from damage or malfunctions on stage.
BAGS & BELONGINGS:
Please bring a bag big enough to hold all your own belongings on the day, including your own clothes that you take off when you are in costume. Ensure your bag & belongings are labelled clearly also.
Please do not bring valuables on the day, Diverse Dance Works & Ayse will not be held responsible for any lost or damaged belongings.
COSTUMES:
Costumes will be provided for you to wear on the day. You may be required to bring a basic item or two (please check the document via the button at the top of the page) and you will also be required to provide your own footwear. Costumes must be returned at the end of the show, each dancer is to put their costumes into their labelled carrier bag that is provided on the day, and handed back in. If you accidentally take a costume home, parents are to contact us and return the item. Items missing from will incur a charge, please take care of the costumes you are lent. A lot of time, energy and love goes into them, and they are used for future productions!
